President Donald Trump told The Truth Society on Saturday that he has offered the position of White House press secretary to Ultimate Fighting Championship CEO and President Dana White.
“I am pleased to announce that the great Dana White, a violent fighter and warrior, has been appointed Press Secretary of the United States,” the president wrote.
In the post, Trump suggested that White should bring in several UFC fighters, including Khabib Nurmagomedov, Justin Gaethje and Amanda Nunes, as assistants to fend off the “crazy left.”
“Dana will make a difference as a press secretary. Dana, please take the job!” he added.
Trump and White have long been friends, with the president attending numerous UFC events during his time in the White House.
Earlier this year, White also organized a UFC fight on the South Lawn of the White House as part of events commemorating America’s 250th birthday.
Many Trump administration officials and Republican lawmakers joined the July fight.
It’s unclear whether Trump is serious about inviting White to serve as press secretary.
A White House spokesman did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The position has been vacant since Katie Zacharia’s departure just five days later in October.
Zakaria replaces Caroline Leavitt, who has served as White House press secretary since Trump returned to the White House in January last year. Levitt announced in August that she would step down from her position to spend more time with her family.
The White House made another staff change on Friday, with chief of staff Suzy Wells saying she would resign. Trump appointed longtime aide Stephen Miller to replace her.
