A Pennsylvania woman is accused of stabbing her husband and three-year-old son to death, then telling police she needed help killing herself.
Metallica Rose Harrison, 27, is charged with two counts of criminal homicide in the deaths of her husband, Charles Harrison, and their son at the Great Wolf Lodge in Pocono Township, according to a criminal complaint and a news release from the Pocono Township Police Department.
Officers from the department were dispatched to the resort after Metallica Harrison told dispatchers she “needs help to kill herself” around 3:13 p.m. Monday, police said.
Responding officers found her with cuts on her wrists and superficial stab wounds to her neck, according to a criminal complaint shared on social media by Monroe County District Attorney Mike Mancuso.
While checking the room, police discovered the bodies of her husband and son, the complaint states. The complaint also states that Charles Harrison suffered multiple stab wounds to his chest, while their son, who was not named, appeared to have only one stab wound to his chest.
Metallica’s Harrison was taken to hospital and police began investigating the death as a homicide. Police said the case was an “isolated family tragedy” and posed no threat to the community.
The investigation is ongoing. Police said Metallica Harrison is awaiting arraignment before District Judge Daniel Kresge.
