White House press secretary Katie Zakaria’s ‘transitional’ role

Fox News reporter Aisha Hasni said White House press secretary Katie Zakaria is reportedly “transitioning” her role after receiving criticism about her legal background.

In a post on X, Hasni said “a senior White House official” told Fox News’ Peter Doocy that Zakaria was “transitioning” the role of press secretary.

News of Zakaria’s resignation reportedly came after President Donald Trump said Zakaria was “treated very poorly by the media.” Trump also added that while Zakaria was “a good person,” he asked her if the position was “the right fit” for her.

“Katie has been treated very badly by the media,” Trump said. “It’s very, very bad. I think it’s very unfair. And, I just talked to her about it. I said, ‘Katie, is this for you?’ ‘Cause you know she was treated very roughly. She’s a great person, a very nice person. I’ve seen her on TV for years. But, I said, ‘This is for you, Katie? Because honestly, you don’t need this.”

According to Breitbart News, in an interview with Fox News Channel HannityZakaria was asked about her legal background and she “admitted that she failed the bar exam, despite calling herself a lawyer.”

Breitbart News Washington bureau chief Matthew Boyle also posted on X that a “familiar source” told him that Trump “remains a big fan of Zachariah.”

“She still has a lot of fans throughout the administration, beyond the president,” Boyle added. “Sources say she and her entire family will have dinner tonight at the Vice President’s residence with Vice President J.D. Vance, Second Lady Usha Vance and the entire second family.”
