What is a Class II recall?

Class II recalls are classified as recalls in which use or exposure to “the violative product may result in temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences,” the FDA said. However, the risk of serious health problems from using the product is considered “minimal”.

Classification describes the potential level of risk; it does not mean that everyone who uses an affected product will suffer adverse effects.

What is the reason for the recall?

The FDA cited deviations from current good manufacturing practice requirements as the reason for the recall but did not specify the nature of the deviation in the notice.

These requirements are designed to help ensure that products are manufactured consistently and meet applicable quality standards. The recall is classified as voluntary and company-initiated, meaning the recall was initiated by the company and not ordered by the FDA.
