McDonald’s is expected to report the earnings of the third quarter before the bell on Friday.
Here’s what Wall Street analysts surveyed by LSEG expect the company to report:
- Earnings per share: $3.38 is expected
- result: $7.29 billion is expected
Last quarter, McDonald’s CEO Chris Kempczinski said the chain’s U.S. business was falling, hurt by uneven execution of value propositions and the launch of complex new menu items. In response, the company tapped Skye Anderson as its new US president.
Analysts predict a worse third quarter for McDonald’s housing market. Wall Street expected same-store sales to fall 0.5%, according to StreetAccount estimates.
Investors will also pay close attention to executive comments about the fourth quarter so far. Chipotle Mexican Grill executives said last Wednesday that the restaurant industry saw traffic soften in October.
McDonald’s shares have fallen about 11% over the past year, weighed down by investor concerns about its U.S. business, expensive plans to upgrade its restaurants and the broader economy. The company has a market capitalization of approximately $186 billion.
