Check out some of the companies that made the biggest moves of the day: Accenture – Shares of the global professional services company surged 18% after its fiscal fourth quarter results. Revenue of $18.7 billion beat the company’s guidance of $17.8 billion to $18.4 billion, and the FactSet consensus estimate of $18.3 billion. Earnings of $3.29 per share also beat expectations. McCormick – The spice company’s third-quarter results beat expectations. McCormick’s adjusted earnings of 86 cents per share beat the 76 cents expected by analysts polled by FactSet. Revenue totaled $2.02 billion, compared to the average estimate of $1.98 billion. McCormick stock fell more than 2%. The company is in the midst of merging with food business Unilever in a deal scheduled to close in mid-2027. McKesson – The healthcare provider reaffirmed its fiscal 2027 earnings per share guidance, sending shares 4% higher. Fiscal second quarter results will be reported on November 4. McKesson also extended its partnership with CVS Health to distribute drugs to mail order, specialty and retail pharmacies, and distribution centers until June 2032. United Therapeutics, Liquidia – The federal court of Delaware, on Wednesday, ordered that the liquidia lung care be taken over by United. Following the decision, BTIG upgraded United Therapeutics to buy, saying “a major legal victory will clear the way for further growth through 2027,” and downgraded Liquidia to neutral. “We see this decision as a negative result for Liquidia, because the ability to market Yutrepia is expected to be limited.” United Therapeutics shares rose 6%, while Liquidia shares fell 15%. Constellation Energy – Shares rose nearly 3% after the energy company announced a 20-year deal with Amazon that supports capacity expansion at a Maryland nuclear power plant. Synopsys – Shares jumped more than 8% after the investor day, which outlined the software company’s growth strategy and long-term goals. Synopsys expects 2027 year-over-year revenue growth of 15%, to $11.1 billion-$11.2 billion, rather than the $10.82 billion expected from analysts, according to FactSet. Synopsys also announced a strategic partnership with OpenAI. Sigma Lithium – The Brazilian lithium producer, which trades on the Nasdaq, saw its shares slide 16%. Sigma temporarily suspended all mining and industrial production on Wednesday after a 15-day delay by the Federal Court of Appeal in Brazil to review the company’s legal defense in connection with a lawsuit filed by a non-governmental organization. Acuity Brands – Shares of the lighting and building management equipment maker fell nearly 4%. Forward guidance for teenage net sales growth at Acuity Intelligent Spaces was slightly below Wall Street consensus, StreetAccount said. BJ’s Restaurants – The restaurant chain’s stock is up about 5%. Mizuho upgraded BJ’s Restaurants to outperform and raised its price target by $2, to $76 per share. “Based on our strong review, we are increasing Q3 [same-store sales] growth estimate for 5.5% from 4.6%, above the consensus of 4.3%, “said Mizuho, adding that it expects a higher revision through 2027. Vicor – Shares rose almost 10% after the company raised its guidance for revenue growth in the third quarter to more than 30% from the previous guidance of at least 20%. Corteva – Corteva announced there was an official spinoff of its Vylor business of seeds and genetics, leaving Corteva pure-play global crop protection company The separation comes after an appeals court denied the state of California a temporary restraining order and an order to delay the spin-off, other than Corteva, CN84 Fred Imbert contributed reporting Correction: McCormick is in the middle of joining the food business of Unilever in a deal that is scheduled to close in mid-2027.
