A Delta Air Lines flight from New York was reportedly evacuated after landing at Tel Aviv Airport on Tuesday due to a bomb threat.
Passengers were rushed to the Ben-Gurion Airport terminal and investigators searched the plane, the Jerusalem Post reported.
Authorities received information that explosives were on board, but after a search of the Airbus A330 twin jet, the threat proved to be false.
A spokesman for the Israel Airports Authority told Ynet: “The incident has ended and no abnormalities were detected. Operations have returned to normal.”
Delta Air Lines has daily flights connecting JFK Airport to Tel Aviv. The flight took off from JFK Airport just after 3:30 pm on Monday and arrived in Tel Aviv around 8:30 am local time.
It was unclear how many passengers and crew were on the plane.
Nearly two weeks ago, “lone wolf” Dubai Airline co-pilot Hamam Hammami allegedly attacked pilot Smit Mahchar and tried to hijack a plane bound for Tel Aviv.
The Washington Post has reached out to Delta for comment.
