Exit polls: Republicans lead by 12 points among Election Day voters

Republicans led Democrats by 12 percentage points among Election Day voters, according to NBC News exit polls.

A breakdown shows 54% support Republican congressional candidates and 42% support Democrats.

The data only covers Election Day voters, not the full NBC News exit poll, which also includes people who voted early or by mail.

Earlier today, Republican National Committee Chairman Joe Gruters predicted a surprise Republican victory in an Election Day interview with Breitbart News Daily, pointing to the party’s resources and turnout operations.

“I think we’re going to surprise a lot of people,” Gruters said.

“We’re going to be fine in South Carolina, Kansas, Nebraska. Eventually they’re all going to be Republicans. But you know, it does take a little bit of our time and effort. But that’s not unusual in a midterm cycle,” he added.
