FBI seizes Ilhan Omar’s phone in immigration fraud investigation

Federal investigators have seized Rep. Ilhan Omar’s (D-MN) cell phone as part of the Department of Justice (DOJ) and Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) immigration fraud investigation into Somalia-born Congresswoman Ilhan Omar (D-MN).

This week, agents from the Department of Homeland Security’s Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) unit raided Omar’s home in Washington, D.C., after a federal judge approved a search warrant.

Fox Digital News is now reporting that in addition to the Justice Department issuing subpoenas to the congresswoman’s relatives, Homeland Security Investigations agents also seized Omar’s phone.

“Federal authorities raided Minnesota Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar’s home in Washington, D.C., on Monday and seized one of her cellphones as part of a criminal fraud investigation into her immigration documents,” Fox News Digital reported.

The search at Omar’s home is related to an immigration fraud investigation, which is rumored to focus on whether the congresswoman lied about her age when she immigrated to the United States in 1995.

Omar became a naturalized U.S. citizen in 2000.

In addition to the immigration investigation into Omar, U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro revealed this week that her office has opened a financial investigation into the congresswoman, potentially taking over the Biden administration’s investigation into her reported multi-million dollar net worth.

“There are multiple investigations going on and I don’t think there’s any question, but if there is a crime, it will be prosecuted,” Pirro told Fox News.
