The property formerly occupied by Long Island’s last Hooters restaurant has been sold.
Bolla Oil paid $5.7 million to buy a 10,782 square meter restaurant building on .76 acres at 25 Smith St. in Farmingdale, as well as an adjacent 2,427 square meter building on .91 acres at 27 Smith St. that was occupied by Valley Bank.
The buyer has not announced plans for the property, although Bolla operates a Mobil gas station and Bolla Market next door to the Hooters property and another newly constructed Mobil gas station and Bolla Market down the street at 629 Broadhollow Road.
The Hooters at 25 Smith St. in Farmingdale closed in February. The first opened in 2010, in Farmingdale Hooters, which is owned by a franchisee, as the last outpost of the breastaurant chain still on Long Island. Other Hooters locations in Iceland and East Meadow closed about 13 years ago.
Founded in Clearwater, Fla. in 1983, the chain has closed several locations in the new year. Hooters of America Inc. filed for bankruptcy in March 2025. It has closed 40 locations in June 2024 and another 30 years later.
Frank Caporrino and Clem Cesare of Triple Net Brokers represented the buyer, as well as the seller, Amcon Realty LLC and Conam Realty LLC, in the Farmingdale sales transaction.
