“Little Rascals” star Brandon “Bug” Hall is asking fans for financial help as he and his wife prepare to welcome their sixth child.
Hall launched a GoFundMe campaign on Thursday and said he “really needs[ed] some help. “
“I’ve been self-cancelling for six years and have always avoided doing one of these things. I always said it was my choice, so I didn’t want to unload the glorious burden of it unless there was no other choice. Well, here we are,” Hall wrote in the description.
The former child star wrote that after moving to a new property in rural Arkansas, he fell behind on some household bills.
He said he needed help “getting the last few things done” before the arrival of their sixth child.
He wrote: “Everyone has had a hard time and I am no more deserving than anyone else, but I ask that you help in any way you can in charity, whether that be financially, through sharing, or through prayer and sacrifice for the Hall-Barnetts of Holy Cross.”
So far, Hall has raised $10,130, which has exceeded his original goal of $2,000.
The star’s GoFundMe campaign comes just months after he was arrested and charged in Ohio in April for failing to appear in court for an October 2024 traffic ticket.
In 2020, he was arrested in Texas for blowing a dust canister.
Hall, best known for playing Alpha Switzer in the 1994 Steven Spielberg comedy, previously revealed to the Daily Mail that he had taken a “pledge of poverty” and lived in isolation as a “radical Catholic extremist”.
He said he had given up the money he made as a child actor and donated much of his fortune to charity.
“My goal is to maintain a life that doesn’t require an income as much as possible,” he told the media at the time.
“If a financial need arises, I’ll go to work or do a gig to get cash to meet that need,” he said.
Previously, Hall and his family lived in Los Angeles and Texas.
The former actor told the Daily Mail they homeschool their children and would “strongly discourage” them from going to university one day.
He called regular schools “nonsense.” The former star also called same-sex marriage “against the law of nature” and abortion “simply murder.”
“I didn’t want to go into basically pointless work making widgets to entertain people or distract people,” Hall told reporters at the time of his decision to quit Hollywood.
