New Jersey couple’s wedding nearly ruined by Nor’easter weekend – NBC New York

Two newlyweds in New Jersey had a memorable wedding, but an Easter attempt to ruin their wedding last weekend took place.

Grace Weiser Vasquez and Francisco Weiser Vasquez planned their dream wedding, but the Highland couple’s best day turned into a downpour as a nor’easter flooded parts of New Jersey on Saturday.

“Starting Friday, the tent company said, ‘We’re not shipping your tent,'” Grace said Wednesday. “There were people kayaking in front of the house. The water was up to the door.” [Francisco’s] car. “

“I was tired of fighting nature. I was like, ‘You win, girl!'” she said.

The couple said they had almost given up on getting married until they got help from an unexpected source.

“If I hadn’t worked at Life Time, I wouldn’t have had the wedding,” Grace said.

Red Bank Health and Fitness Club, where Grace works part-time, offers a space to facilitate last-minute wedding rescues. She said her managers and co-workers, some of whom had originally planned to prepare for her wedding at the golf course, came to help.

Newlyweds Grace and Francisco Weisser Vasquez recall their wedding weekend.

“They had the rental company come back to the venue and pick up all my stuff. They came out with these huge umbrellas and escorted me in,” she said. “I feel like a celebrity.”

Back at the couple’s home, the water level dropped enough for Francisco to escape.

Despite the storm raging outside, the newlyweds said their “I dos” in the most peaceful setting.

“We got married in a yoga studio,” Grace said with a smile.

Finally, the couple had their dream wedding. They may have never imagined their eventual wedding, but now they say they couldn’t imagine it any other way.

“It was the most perfect wedding,” Grace said. “If it rains on your wedding day, you’re lucky.”
