Oregon elementary school shooter ‘shot and killed by bystander’

The shooting suspect at Silver Tracks Elementary School in Bend, Oregon, “was shot and killed by a bystander,” CBS News reported.

The alleged shooter was 16 years old, and CBS News cited “law enforcement sources” as saying a bystander killed the suspect.

Fox News reported live that law enforcement sources said an adult and three children were killed in the incident.

Breitbart News pointed to a CNN report that police were first called to the scene around 1:00 p.m. for reports of “shots being fired at a car.” CBS News noted that “a minute later, multiple 911 calls came in reporting that someone had entered the school and started shooting.”

Law enforcement officers swarmed the area and the school was placed on lockdown.

After the incident, the two were taken to the hospital, but their circumstances were not disclosed. Now, however, Fox News and CNN are reporting four deaths, three of them children.

Gabby Giffords’ gun control group Giffords gave Oregon an A- for strict gun control.

Oregon has red flag laws, universal background checks, gun show sales background check requirements, ammunition regulations, concealed carry permit requirements, and many other controls.
