Prince Harry said there were “many reasons” for his family to return to the UK last month after several years living in California, but he declined to reveal the details behind the heavily scrutinized relocation choice in an interview with New Media.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex settled in California after relinquishing their royal duties in 2020 amid a feud between them and other royals. Megan was born and raised in Southern California.
Last month, they moved back to the UK with the couple’s two children, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5.
“It’s great to be back on British soil,” Prince Harry told Canada’s CTV broadcaster on Friday shortly after completing a charity skydive north of Toronto.
When asked why his family decided to move back to the UK, Prince Harry said there were “many reasons” behind the move but gave no further details.
“The children are happy at school and it gives me the opportunity to really focus on the Invictus Games in Birmingham next July,” he added.
The family reportedly lived at a private property in the Cotswolds, outside London. Archie and Lilibet reportedly changed schools within days of starting due to safety concerns during their daily commute.
