HDFC Bank Q2 Results live: Axis Securities: HDFC Bank Nears Inflection Point; Recovery in Margins and Earnings in Sight

Axis Securities remains constructive on HDFC Bank’s medium-term outlook, citing Q2 margin stabilization, improved operating productivity and stronger retail/MSME momentum as key drivers of the gradual earnings recovery. Higher share of floating rate loans, improved loan mix and focused CASA deposit mobilization will support margins. The appointment of Anup Bagchi as MD & CEO addresses the leadership overhang, with execution on retail growth, deposit mobilization and net interest improvement (NIM) still key.

The broker expects RoA to increase to 1.8–1.9% over FY27–FY29 and believes the current share price offers good risk reward, with limited downside amid increasing branch productivity, strengthening deposit franchise and best-in-class asset quality.
