Selma Blair assaulted two flight attendants on plane bound for JFK: Source – NBC New York

Actress Selma Blair is in custody after biting and attacking a flight attendant on a plane bound for New York City’s John F. Kennedy Airport, according to law enforcement sources.

The Port Authority Police Department received a call around 11 p.m. Sunday that a passenger was being physically abused on a Delta Air Lines flight out of Los Angeles International Airport, a spokesman said. The passenger was identified as 54-year-old Blair.

Law enforcement sources told NBC New York that the “Cruel Intentions” star attacked two flight attendants, leaving one with a bite and the other with cuts. The plane continued to be “locked down,” the source said, adding that Blair was being restrained to some extent but not taped off.

When the plane landed at the Queens airport, Port Authority police and the FBI responded. The Port Authority said Blair was taken into custody and transported to Jamaica Hospital for evaluation.

As she was being transported to the hospital, Blair assaulted a Port Authority officer, repeatedly kicking her in the head and assaulting a nurse at Jamaica Hospital, law enforcement sources said.

Sources revealed that Blair had a support dog with him at the time of the incident. Her lawyer met her at the hospital and took possession of the dog.

A representative for Blair said the actress “experienced a medical emergency that resulted in the alleged conduct.” The representative said she “received immediate medical attention” after landing and was recovering in hospital, but did not provide further details about the medical incident.

Blair revealed in 2018 that she had been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.

The Port Authority said one of the flight attendants injured in the attack was taken to a hospital for treatment. No further information about the injuries to the flight attendant was immediately available.

The FBI is investigating the incident and confirmed to NBC News that it had been contacted “regarding a possible attack on a flight arriving at JFK Airport.” The bureau told NBC News, “Consistent with long-standing Department of Justice policy, we do not comment on ongoing investigations.”

The Federal Aviation Administration also said it would investigate “passenger disturbances” on flights.
