Trump announced $8 billion in crop fuel relief to offset diesel costs

President Donald Trump announced $8 billion in Crop Fuel Assistance payments to farmers this harvest season to offset the increase in diesel and other input costs that have increased due to global energy supply disruptions caused by attacks from Iran and terrorist proxies in the Middle East.

“And some other things – you know, I’ve always heard that when you’re president, you have a little bit of an advantage, and I know why now, actually, I know why: Tonight, I’m also happy to announce that the Department of Agriculture will launch a new Harvest Fuel Assistance program, providing our farmers with $8 billion in support to offset the cost of Diesel Union,” said Trump to offset the cost of diesel harvests at the Heartland Arena. in Park City, Kansas, near Wichita, stumping for Sen. Roger Marshall, R-Kan.

“And Roger Marshall was the leader who fought for that to happen. Roger made it happen. Good job, Roger.”

Trump compared this farmer bailout fund to the $12 billion Farmers Bridge Assistance (FBA) program he gave earlier this year and the total $28 billion he gave to farmers in his first administration, including $12 billion before the 2018 midterms.

“And when Republicans win, we’re going to give more funding to farmers,” Trump said. “We love our farmers.

“I only gave farmers $12 billion, and in the first season, I gave $28 billion, if you remember. And that came out of tariff money from China. China paid. It was a gift from China.”

DEMOCRATS REVOLT OVER TRUMP ADMIN’S $20B AID PLAN FOR US FARM CRISIS

The USDA announced the $8 billion Crop Fuel Assistance program will provide proportional support based on model losses through the 2026 crop year. Payments will be calculated using planted acres, production cost estimates, yields and prices.

Commodity-specific payment rates for major crops are expected to be released in November. The program will be administered by the Farm Service Agency and funded through the Commodity Credit Corporation Charter Act.

Trump also highlighted a recent executive order that eliminated off-road requirements for red-dyed diesel, allowing farmers and truckers to buy the fuel tax-free.
