After learning last week that he had just one sack in his past 17 games, Andrew Thomas recoiled from the idea that he was playing well.
The left tackle has remained an All-Pro player, although injuries and the Giants’ annual late-season irrelevance have kept him from earning the NFL’s top honor in all but one of his first seven seasons.
So Thomas was again dissatisfied with his performance after Sunday’s draw with the Commanders (his first sack of the season and three pressures, according to Pro Football Focus) despite battling a groin injury that now requires him to do pregame workouts with his return-to-game coach.
“I wasn’t physical enough,” Thomas told the Washington Post after guarding all 89 offensive snaps. “My skills are not good enough.”
