Costco is adding a premium diaper brand to its online lineup, but there’s a catch

Costco is expanding its selection of diapers with new premium brands, but for now, shoppers won’t find them in the retailer’s warehouse.

Warehouse Club now offers Kudos diapers exclusively online, with prices starting at $47.99 per pack, giving parents another option who buy through the company’s website alongside brands such as Huggies, Pampers and Costco’s Kirkland Signature.

According to Costco’s website, Kudos diapers are available in sizes 1 through 6, with size 1 costing $47.99 per package, or about 34 cents per diaper. Shipping and handling is included, with delivery taking approximately five to seven business days.

Unlike many conventional disposable diapers, Kudos products have a 100% cotton lining that attaches directly to baby’s skin instead of a plastic liner, according to the manufacturer.

Kudos also advertises its diapers as chlorine-free and OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified. The company says its products are made without fragrances, lotions, natural latex, parabens or phthalates.

The company’s patented DoubleDry technology features two absorbent layers designed to provide more than 12 hours of leak protection, according to the manufacturer.

The brand was founded by Amrita Saigal, an MIT-trained engineer and former Procter & Gamble employee, who made disposable diapers using more cotton and less plastic.

Saigal discussed Kudos’ growth and expansion into Costco during an October appearance on the World’s First Podcast. According to the published description of the episode, the company has sold more than 100 million diapers and is on track to generate more than $30 million by 2026.

The addition expands Costco’s online baby care offerings, though the retailer has not publicly confirmed whether it plans to bring Kudos diapers to physical warehouses.
