Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniels and Drake Maye are the first three picks in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Williams and the Chicago Bears will face Meyer and the New England Patriots in prime time Thursday night in Week 7.
When asked about Williams on Tuesday, Meyer had nothing but praise for the former No. 1 overall pick.
“He’s in the pocket and I don’t know if I can do some of the things he can do. What’s special about him is he can move and kind of escape and escape pressure. [Him] It looks cool throwing things on the run,” Meyer said. “I don’t know if I’m that crafty in the pocket. He can do some cool things. He’s got crazy arm talent and it’s fun to watch. I don’t know if I’m that nimble enough to try some of those things, but I think the way he plays the game is cool.
“I know he’s doing a good job, and I know in Chicago he’s watching the city closely.”
Williams returned to action with the Bears last weekend after missing three games with a hamstring injury. In his first game back against the Atlanta Falcons, he completed 30 of 36 pass attempts for 305 yards and a touchdown in a 31-23 victory.
After a slow start to the 2026 season, Meyer is once again one of the most dynamic quarterbacks in the league. Last year’s NFL MVP runner-up threw for 235 yards and three touchdowns in Sunday’s Week 6 victory over the New York Jets.
Thursday’s game between the Patriots and Bears begins at 8:15 p.m. ET.
