Jet with nine people on board crashes in Florida

A Learjet 60 jet bound for the Bahamas crashed in Florida on Sunday afternoon with nine people on board, the Federal Aviation Administration said.

It’s unclear how many passengers were injured or if anyone else on the ground was injured

The FAA said the flight, which took off from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport in Texas and was bound for North Eleuthera Airport in the Bahamas, crashed near Crest Haven, Florida, around 12:50 p.m.

The agency and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the accident.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said an aircraft crash in the Military Trails area is under investigation and all northbound and southbound lanes are closed until further notice.
