First on FOX: Canadian jetmaker Bombardier announced on Friday that it is “expanding in America” and “creating thousands of jobs” as part of a $270 million investment deal announced by President Donald Trump.
The development comes after Trump said in September that Bombardier would not be allowed to sell planes in the United States unless they manufacture them domestically.
“Bombardier is expanding its presence throughout the country, hiring 800 people for jobs located at its home base in Kansas as well as Texas, Indiana, and Connecticut,” the company said in a press release obtained by FOX Business. “This strategy includes an initial phase of investment of approximately $270M earmarked for infrastructure growth.”
“Our American service network is a key pillar of Bombardier’s growth strategy. This new wave of expansion and hiring reflects our long-term confidence in this market and our employees in America,” said Eric Martel, president and CEO of Bombardier.

“Hiring activities will be more widespread in the company’s US home base in Kansas as well as in Indiana and Connecticut,” the company continued.
