Mikal Bridges returns to slump Knicks fans are all too familiar with

It feels like we go through this every year because… well, we go through this every year.

We’ll go through periods of the season where Mikal Bridges can’t afford to play, and what’s even worse is when he plays in a series of games and you have to check the final stats to make sure he played in the game.

Of course, there’s no doubt about that last part, as Bridges extends his NBA streak to 641 games when he takes on the Magic at the Garden on Sunday night. Bridges does compete every day. There’s really no reason to remind you that he’s played well in a lot of games, including the 166 games he played as a Knick before this weekend.

It’s just that when most professional basketball players become apathetic, they don’t go to crazy extremes like Bridges did. When he goes into panic, it feels like he’s entering witness protection.
