The New York Police Department is looking for an armed man wanted for sexually assaulting a woman at knifepoint in Central Park.
Police said the woman was walking in the park on Saturday night when the attack occurred.
Police received reports of an assault near the intersection of East 66th Street and Fifth Avenue around 9:30 p.m. The unidentified man reportedly approached the 39-year-old woman, threatened her with a knife and then attacked her.
The woman was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, police said.

People enjoying a day out in the park on Sunday afternoon were shocked to hear about the attack the night before.
“A lot of women are conditioned to worry about these things,” said visitor Joyce Shabboz. “I have two daughters. It’s definitely something I worry about all the time.”
Police have not released further details about the person they are looking for, and no arrests had been made as of Sunday afternoon.
