As the people of Niue celebrate their 52nd anniversary of self-government, on behalf of the United States of America, I extend to you my warmest congratulations.
This year marks a major milestone in our partnership with the appointment of the first U.S. Ambassador to Niue. This historic milestone builds on the diplomatic relations established between our two countries in 2023 and the United States’ commitment to deepening its relationship with the people of Niue.
We value our joint efforts to promote regional unity and security through the Pacific Islands Forum, where the Deputy Secretary recently announced U.S. support for addressing the current global energy crisis and combating illegal, unreported, and unregulated fishing in the region.
I look forward to expanding our cooperation in the coming years and extend my best wishes to all the people of Niue on Constitution Day.
