Polish police warn of possible plot to attack Prime Minister Donald Tusk

WARSAW, Poland (AP) — Polish police said Sunday they have received intelligence about possible plots to attack Prime Minister Donald Tusk and Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamyš.

Interior ministry spokesperson Karolina Galecka said an emergency meeting of security services, police and interior ministry representatives was scheduled for 11am (0900GMT) on Sunday to discuss the situation.

In September, Tusk warned that Russia might step up hybrid attacks on NATO’s eastern flank. He said Russia was planning to use drones or rockets to attack European countries that support Ukraine, including Poland, in an effort to weaken Western support for Kiev’s fight against the Russian invasion. Moscow denies any such plans.

No further information is available on the reported plot.

Polish authorities are on high alert this week after three school attacks occurred in four days in the central Polish province of Mazovia, where the capital Warsaw is located.
