Tom Brady’s competitive fire still burns years after his NFL retirement

Tom Brady is years removed from playing in his last NFL game, but the discipline he displayed on and off the field helped define his legendary 23-year career.

The “TB12” method helped Brady become the GOAT of the NFL, as he won seven Super Bowls. His NFL week looks a little different these days, as he’s in the booth instead of on the gridiron. But whether on the microphone or even on the golf course, or even everyday health, there is still a competitive fire in it.

The “healthy” version of Brady is a little different now, but the main thing is still the main thing.

“It might be different in terms of what you do or when you do it, but at the end of the day, it’s all about prevention and wellness, preventative medicine and preventative care,” Brady told FOX Business in a recent interview.

“The more I think as a player about how I can prevent injuries before I get hit, the more time, energy and resources I put into preparing my body for what I want to do. That’s a lot of what I’m still doing. I just don’t get hit or throw a pass, but I don’t want to get hurt. I don’t want to be an old man and tear my Achilles.”

That mindset is what continues to shape Brady’s post-retirement endeavors. The NFL legend’s latest partnership is SharkNinja, a company known for vacuums, blenders and other consumer products. Brady appears in a new holiday season ad campaign alongside soccer legend David Beckham, comedian Kevin Hart and tennis star Aryna Sabalenka.

However, Brady’s competitive edge goes beyond his athleticism and health to his daily “commitment.”

“How can I be a better friend or a better father? How can I be more faithful to the people who have been faithful to me and more faithful to the commitments that I have?” said. “Obviously, I have to look at myself in the mirror every day. I have to make sure I follow through on the commitments I made to myself. How can I be a little better physically by taking care of myself and treating myself the way I should? I want to live a good life.

“Mentally, I want to take care of my mind and where I put my time and energy. I want to continue to learn from people who are smarter and more successful than me. Emotionally, how can I challenge my heart and emotions to grow through different aspects of life and be a father and support my children?
