A severe case of the flu forced music legend Sir Tom Jones to abruptly cancel dates on his Southern California tour just hours before a show.
The famed Welsh singer unexpectedly contracted the flu on Monday and had to reschedule his shows in Los Angeles and San Diego.
“I had a great time these past few weeks, completing 20 shows and singing to wonderful audiences across the United States, when unexpectedly I came down with a nasty case of the flu,” Jones wrote in the post.
“Based on medical advice, I unfortunately have to reschedule tonight’s show in Los Angeles and tomorrow’s show in San Diego,” he continued.
His Los Angeles concert was originally scheduled for Monday night at 7:30 pm at the Greek Theater, but has now been rescheduled to November 4th. The San Diego show was originally scheduled for Tuesday night at 7:30 pm at The Rady Shell in Jacobs Park, but has been rescheduled to November 3.
Jones is currently on his “Come Gather Round” tour and is wrapping up three shows in Las Vegas.
Following Jones’ start of his global tour in England in June, the North American leg takes place on September 18 in Highland Park, Illinois.
The legendary singer is known for her hits “She’s a Lady,” “Sex Bomb” and “Delilah.”
In 2006, he was knighted by the late Queen Elizabeth II at Buckingham Palace.
