Yves Saint Laurent will open a store at 717 Fifth Avenue Kering – Commercial Observer

Luxury French fashion house Yves Saint Laurent will open a new store in 717 Fifth Avenuea new report revealed.

According to the market report released by CBREat dry-owned fashion house, once known as YSL for its founder, the late Yves Saint Laurent, will open in nearly 9,600 square feet on the grounds of the former Corning Glass Building located on the east side of 56th Street from Trump Tower.

Saint Laurent is now on 3. Jalan Timur 57which opened in 2003. The store expanded to 14,071 square feet and was renovated in 2015.

According to property records, the original lease on East 57th Street expires in 2022 and does not have a renewal option. Because the fashion retailer is still there, the company may sign a five-year extension during the pandemic, which will take place in October 2027. The building is managed by Bookbinder & Warrenwho did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

YSL was founded in 1961 when couturier Yves Saint Laurent focused on creating clothes that would “liberate women.” The brand became part of Kering in 1999. Saint Laurent died in 2008.

A YSL media representative did not respond to a request for comment on the store move. Spokesperson for Ardian and CBRE also did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
