Besides AirPods, AirTag is undoubtedly my most used Apple technology product. In fact, I have one attached to every accessory I carry with me when I travel, right down to my purse. So you can imagine my joy when I saw that the second-generation Apple AirTags were on sale for 21% off, which is the lowest price ever, which means it’s even lower than the Prime Day price in October. Since the Apple product discounts we’ve been reporting on rarely last long, you should grab the deals while you still can.
Deal of the day
The second-generation Apple AirTag works much like the first-generation one you’re familiar with: It uses Bluetooth to help you track whatever personal item it’s connected to, whether on a keychain, pocket, or holder. You can track the item using the Find My app, which displays a map to help you find your lost item. It will even give you directions to help you find something. When I travel to Europe, I personally like to keep AirTags in my wallet (using the AirTag card holder), luggage, backpacks, and carry-on luggage. I was happy to be able to see my belongings arrive safely while traveling between airports. Plus, it can run on battery for over a year before replacing it.
Key differences between first- and second-generation AirTags include 50 percent louder alarms and new sounds that make it easier to find things that might be buried under personal belongings, like keys or wallets. It also has improved Bluetooth and ultra-wideband range, both of which help it track items further than the first generation. The second generation is compatible with iPhones running iOS 14 or later, which includes iPhone 12 all the way up to the latest iPhones, but Apple says some improved features, like Pinpoint Finder, work best on iPhone 15 or later.
Why this deal is worth it
The deal is worth it because it’s a well-reviewed Apple product that we’ve used (and loved using) many times. Plus, deals on Apple products don’t last long, especially when the prices are so low. In this case, its price is the lowest ever.
- lowest price ever
- Great for travel and everyday tasks
- Compatible with iPhone 12 and newer models and many accessories available on Amazon
- It is an exquisite and affordable holiday gift
