Rep. Crow: ‘My top priority’ is deporting Pete Hegseth

On CBS’ “Face the Nation” airing Sunday, Rep. Jason Crow (D-CO) said “if we regain the majority, our first priority is to make sure we oust” War Secretary Pete Hegseth.

Part of the text record is as follows:

MARGARET BRENNAN: I want to ask you about national security issues. Director of National Intelligence Jay Clayton reported that the United States has received intelligence that Iran has significantly increased its efforts to target American personnel. In a memo, he noted that Iran’s deadly plot against American citizens has reached an advanced stage in the Middle East and other countries. You are a member of the Intelligence Committee. We know that the United States has withdrawn its troops from some military bases and diplomatic bases. What, if anything, can you tell us about the plot?

represent. Jason Crow: Well, Iran remains a danger. Pete Hegseth is still incompetent and not taking the necessary steps to protect our service members, which is why if we regain the majority, he’s my number one priority to make sure we kick him out of the Pentagon, because our service members actually deserve competent, serious, real leadership to protect them and do the right thing. And they currently don’t have such capabilities. But more importantly do you know who are the main supporters of Iran, who are providing intelligence and helping to supply and provide targets for Iran to kill Americans? Vladimir Putin and Russia. Well, let’s talk about the fact that for the past two weeks you’ve had Steve Witkoff sitting across from Vladimir Putin and calling him a humanitarian, while Donald Trump has lifted and eased sanctions and given tens of billions of dollars to the Russian war machine in an attempt to kill Americans. That’s — that’s beyond the scope, and — Donald Trump needs to stop because he’s putting our service members at risk, and Americans should be outraged at what this administration is doing.
