Food For Life debuts organic sprouted bagels

CORONA, KAB. – Food For Life Baking Co. has added organic sprouted bagels to the Ezekiel 4:9 bread line.

Like other options in the lineup, including flourless pita and flourless flax tortillas, the bagel is produced using the company’s signature sprouting technique known to improve nutrition, aid mineral absorption, provide a more balanced pH, improve digestion, break down starch, and lower the glycemic index of individual bagels. Combining a variety of new grains and legumes, including wheat, barley, beans, lentils, millet and spelt, the bagel contains 18 amino acids with half of them considered “essential,” according to the company. Bagels are baked slowly to preserve the nutritional properties of the grain, including fiber. Bagels are certified organic, non-GMO, halal and vegan in addition to being made without preservatives, oils or artificial shortening.

“Every year, bagels are the No. 1 product that Food For Life’s loyal fans ask us to make,” said Gary Torres, Food’s principal company. “With the launch of Ezekiel 4:9 Organic Sprouted Bagels, we’re thrilled to be able to offer something innovative that doesn’t compromise on nutrition or taste.”

Food For Life organic sprouted bagels are available in two flavors, original and whole, and in four-count bags. It is available in the frozen section of natural food stores and select supermarkets in the United States, the company said.
